When setting goals, they should be SMART which means:
SPECIFIC,
MEASURABLE,
ACHIEVABLE,
BLAH, BLAH, BLAH……
I’m sure you’ve read many articles or blogs on goal setting before and the above acronym makes total sense. Our goals should be SMART. However, this blog isn’t going to be about that. It is however going to cement the importance of setting a goal for the next 6 weeks.
It has been proven in numerous studies that those who set goals prior to embarking on an exercise regime are more likely to achieve better results than those who do not. In fact, a Harvard business study revealed those people who set goals are 10 times more successful than those who don’t. Furthermore, of those with goals, people who write them down are 3 times more successful than those who don’t. If you don’t set goals there is a tendency to drift.
You have taken the first step by signing up for this Online Body Transformation Programme and you have committed time and money to improving yourself. Why not give goal setting a go? If you are sceptical that it will make any difference, what do you have to lose? Only time. Sit down for 10 minutes with a pen and paper and think about what you really want to achieve over the next 6 weeks. What motivated you to sign up for the programme? Is it 6lbs of weight loss, 3 inches from around your hips or being able to bend over without groaning? There is no right or wrong, just make sure to write it down. Reflect on how important that goal is for you because that will help you commit to it. If you think it will help you to share your goal we’d love to hear it so drop us a message. Pin it to your computer screen at work or the fridge at home, somewhere you’ll see it every day. If you have days where you feel demotivated, this could become hugely valuable in reminding you what this programme means and why you signed up.
Of course, it won’t be easy to achieve, nothing worth having is, but it is possible and with a bit of drive and determination it is within reach.
