Goal Setting

Reading time: 2 minutes

It has been proven in numerous studies that those who set goals prior to embarking on an exercise regime are more likely to achieve better results than those who do not. In fact, a Harvard business study revealed those people who set goals are 10 times more successful than those who don’t.  Furthermore, of those with goals, people who write them down are 3 times more successful than those who don’t. If you don’t set goals there is a tendency to drift.

If this is your first Evolution Health & Fitness Programme, now is a great time to sit down and think about the goals you would like to achieve over the next 10 weeks. If you have previously completed another of our programmes, it is a good idea to revisit the goals you previously set and decide whether they still apply or whether they need updating. There is no right or wrong, just make sure to write it down. A good place to start is to ask yourself why you embarked on this programme? Perhaps it was to vary your exercise routine, perhaps you need some cross-training to supplement your other activities, perhaps you have been advised to work on your flexibility or core strength. Reflect on how important that goal is for you because that will help you commit to it. If you think it will help you to share your goal we’d love to hear it so drop us a message. Pin it to your computer screen at work or the fridge at home, somewhere you’ll see it every day. If you have days where you feel demotivated to complete your App workout, this could become hugely valuable in reminding you what this programme means and why you signed up.

Of course, it won’t be easy to achieve, nothing worth having is, but it is possible and with a bit of drive and determination it is within reach.

This time in 10 weeks who knows where you’ll be…!
